Childhood Memories
Does anyone have any suggestions for getting humidity into your home other than a humidifier? I have one of those, and it's not enough. I've done the "boil a pot of water on the stove" thing and I have a humidifier running all the time, and the air is still dry enough to cause sparks all the time. Plus I wake up with a dry throat. I think I might get a second humidifier. Tonight's plan is to try putting a giant bowl of water on the heater. It probably won't do a lot of good, but it certainly can't hurt.
Well, until the cat knocks the giant bowl of water onto the floor.
And now, for today's Holidailies prompt: What childhood activity do you miss? What childhood activities have you refused to give up?
I think the thing I miss the most about childhood is the general care-free lifestyle. I miss spending summer days outside, playing baseball in the front yard or riding bikes through the weeds in the empty lot across from the house. I miss splashing around near the lake and running from the snakes and watching the neighbor boys catching crawdads and being a little afraid of the wagon full of crawdads. I miss being out until dark and I miss the adventures that we used to have.
I'm struggling to think of things that I refuse to give up. I definitely claim to never want to grow up, and yet sometimes I feel like I'm more adult than a lot of people I know. I do refuse to give up kids movies. And I try to be a little bit carefree, and have a day where I just go have adventures all day without plans. Of course, my adventures are more like going to the mall on a holiday or wandering the museums. So I guess that's different.
