Woo, informative.
If money were no object, which five luxury items would you rush right out and buy?
Submitted by lorilyn.
- A Garmin Forerunner 305
- TiVO. My cable company issued DVR works just fine, but TiVO = shiny
- A Mini Cooper
- A Wii
- A yacht
Of course, this all assumes that I can't include "shiny new house" and "people to clean and cook for me"
And yes, I did throw the last one on there because I realized I probably know people who own the top four things. It's amazing how your opinion of "luxury item" changes when you're working for very little money.
If you could eat anything you wanted, and not have to worry about gaining weight/being unhealthy/inhumane, what would you totally pig out on?

Cheese. Lots and lots of cheese.
When is the last time you stayed up all night?
I honestly don't remember. I never pulled any all nighters in college. I loved my bed too much for that. I do remember a few parties where we were up until the crack of dawn though. Well, I mostly remember them, anyway. But even then, I think I slept some.
So I guess the last time I really stayed up all night was high school prom.
Man, I am lame.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what five people would you eat first?
Submitted by James Poling.
Well, this question's kind of disturbing. It's kind of like CFoM, only more realistic and less fun. Oh Vox, where do you come up with these things. But it is hard to answer. Who's on the island with me? I mean, if it's me and random people, this question is easier to answer. If it's me and people I like, that makes it more complicated. But I guess I would probably eat.
1. That annoying whiny person
2. Anyone who wants to debate politics. Dude, we're on an island.
3. The person who refuses to pull their weight
4. Well, I guess by now we should eat the injured. Put them out of their misery, I guess.
5. The dude I've been marinating in a tasty sauce since the minute we arrived on the island. He should be ready by now.
What's the best thing since sliced bread?
Indoor plumbing. Though it probably actually came before sliced bread. And if so, my answer is electric blankets.
What is your favorite ring tone?
Submitted by rach.
My ringtone on my last phone and on my current phone is the opening to Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Just the instrumental, before the vocals come in. I love it!
Conveniently the Vox QoTD is about New Year's Resolutions. So here we go.
Resolutions
- Try to post at least twice a week. Holidailies was fun this past month. I don't think I can ever become a daily poster, because well, I don't have that much to say. But I can definitely write two times a week.
- Stay within my budget. I'm currently testing out a new budget to see if it's even feasible to stay within it, but I do need to tighten my finances as much as I can
- Workout at least five times a week
- Stick to my running plan. If it's a running day and I don't feel like running, at least go out for a quick one mile jaunt. It'll keep me in shape.
- Continue to watch what I eat
- Read two books a month. Textbooks don't count.
- Spend an hour a week doing creative writing
- Spend time each week cleaning the house, rather than letting everything pile up and become disastrous.
Goals
- Lose 8 more pounds and keep them off.
- Run a sub-30:00 5k
- Run over 100 hours this year
- Be able to run the park path by the end of the year. Provided I still live in the area, that is.
How do you take your tea or coffee?
Submitted by Vasquez.
Coffee is black. Tea with a bit of Splenda. Mmm, tea.
What's on your holiday wish list?
My Christmas list was pretty boring. Few dvds, a few items of clothing, and a new camera. Apparently, years of dropping a camera and spilling beer on it leads to death and destruction. Who knew? My family's big on making Christmas lists. To the point where this year's list to my mother involved catalogs with post-it arrows pointing to items and listing sizes. Maybe it takes the surprise out of it, but I'd rather my reaction be "Oh yay! That blue top I wanted," rather than "Dude, an orange sweater with felt flowers? You shouldn't have."
And for today's Holidailies prompt, a recipe that is adored in my home.
Place chicken breasts in baking dish and cover each piece with a slice of Swiss cheese. Combine soup with wine and pour over chicken. Crush enough croutons to cover top of chicken and sprinkle seasonings and croutons over meat. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 6
