So I realize that I haven't been posting much lately. Why? I blame NaNoWriMo.
So close. So very close.
For Thanksgiving, I shared dinner with Mary Beth and her parents, and then, like crazy people, we went to the outlet mall at midnight. And then Target at 7am. People, I am too old for that kind of thing. It was a good time, mostly because there wasn't anything specific that I was looking for, and admittedly, I did find some good bargains. But I am kind of amazed at the people for whom this was a major task. As we were driving to the outlet mall, we passed Best Buy, where there was a crazy line of people outside. People with tents. And I'm pretty sure the store didn't open for something like another 4 hours. I like a bargain as much as the next person, but part of me can't think of a particular item that I would be willing to spend hours and hours in the cold for. I suppose there were a lot of people buying gifts though, and that does change the situation a bit.
I would not have been one of the people in the crazy line outside the Coach outlet though.
And now I have a cold. I blame the shopping.
To make up for my lack of posts, I've decided to do Holidailies again. You have been warned.
I had plans! Took a final on Tuesday, took Tuesday night from studying, then two solid days of studying for this last final, then done! Plans! Good plans!
Then I got food poisoning and didn't move from the couch yesterday. I did, however, watch Casablanca, Newsies, and multiple baby/birthing stories on TLC. Those things make me never want to have kids. Or maybe just never have it filmed. One or the other.
In another back Holidailies prompt, they asked "What's the one food it simply wouldn't be [your winter holiday of choice] without?" (Oh yeah, catching up on Holidailies? Also not going to happen. If I'm not careful, I'm gonna get kicked out.) I'm assuming the holiday mentioned is Christmas, but I can't think of any particular Christmas food that we always have. It varies every year, which is nice. If you would like something specific, a request can be made and you just might get it. But Thanksgiving means Grandma's dressing. It's amazing. I don't know what it is about it, but it's just incredible. So delicious (thankfully there is no organ meat in it anymore, at which point, it was not delicious but gross and who eats that stuff?). My mom has taken over the job of cooking it, and thankfully, it's not just a Grandma thing - Mom can make it just as good. Mmm... dressing. I believe I ate the leftovers of that for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving.
And now, many hours of studying, and maybe another catch-up entry tonight.
