I am watching the last episode of Gilmore Girls, and I normally fast forward through the opening credits, but I just decided that it's the last episode and that I should watch. And sing along.
I bought a really cute running skirt last week, and I'm hoping to get to try it out tomorrow. I am nothing if not fashionable when I run. Except when I am running in old faded shorts and a threadbare t-shirt. Especially the tie-dye t-shirt. Hot.
Just over 200 miles for the year so far. I'm gunning for 1000km for the year, which is 621 miles. I'm a bit behind pace - I should be at 229.8 miles, and I'm at 211.6. But it shoudn't be too hard to catch up. I'm only putting in about 15 miles a week, but I'm planning on trying to increase that a tiny bit over the summer, if BarBri classes allow.
I keep getting asked if I'm enjoying my week off. Well, it's sort of productive. Not super fun. Just trying to clean things up a bit (a lot), run a ton of errands, get organized, finally move the winter clothes into storage, etc. You know, all those fun things.
And now, back to Gilmore Girls. For the last time. *sniff*
Has anyone else been watching Identity, the new gameshow on NBC? I watched it on Monday night and again last night and I think it's great! (Except that the woman playing last night drove me nuts.) Bill mocked me while I was watching, but I think it's a really interesting premise for a show. You have 12 strangers and 12 identities (anything from profession to hobby to things like "attacked by a shark.") Some of them are easy. Last night, one of the identities was "Mall Santa" and there was a guy there with a big white beard. Clearly the Mall Santa. But some are hard. There was a woman who I thought was possibly the ballet dancer and it turned out she was a termite inspector.
Apparently, one guy got all of them right on Tuesday night's show. And I saw an interview with Penn Jillette, who hosts the show, and he was saying that they had an FBI profiler play and he got every single one right with little trouble. So I guess that shows that you can tell quite a bit from the way a person looks. Of course, it's not just how they look, but how they hold themselves, etc.
But I think it also shows just how surprising identities can be and how you can't always figure out a person by the way they look. We're taught that as children, but I think it's hard to not judge a person based on their looks. It's ingraned into us by television and magazines. Who says a termite inspector has to be a big guy who lumbers around? Why can't it be a beautiful woman who moves with grace? It just goes to show that we shouldn't judge a person by their "identity" or by how they look. There's a lot more to it than that.
(Hoping to catch up on Holidailies tonight.)
When you were younger, were there any game shows that you religiously watched and wanted to be a contestant on?
I'm pretty sure I've always hated game shows. Of all kinds. I also kind of hate reality tv. I think I watched Real World New Orleans. And well, Deal or No Deal always sucks me in. But the rest I can't handle. I catch Wheel of Fortune every so often because it comes on right after the local news. But even that doesn't hold my interest.
So I guess the answer to this is "no." I can't come up with any game shows I'd want to be on now even. Weird.
